Monkey and I stitched our first five Inklingo flowers for the World’s Biggest Hexagon Quilt a few weeks ago, but we want to have more ready to mail to Australia by November 15th. Russ will be watching the World Series tonight, so I need to be prepared for a cosy Saturday evening at home. PBS is showing an old Sherlock Holmes mystery (love Jeremy Brett) and an old Poirot. Since I have seen them both before, this is an ideal Inklingo stitching opportunity. If baseball is your choice, you will probably have even more time to stitch. “Baseball is six minutes of action crammed into two-and-one-half hours.” (Dusty old quote) There is plenty of time to stitch a few flowers between pitches, eh?

My copy of The Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns arrived yesterday, and I am very glad I ordered it. It is a perfect source of inspiration for anyone who enjoys using Inklingo. I have used Barbara Brackman’s excellent Encyclopedia of Quilt Blocks for years, and I admire her contribution to quilt history. This new book by Jinny Beyer is destined to become a favorite reference too.

Monkey and I have had a big weekend. Last summer we signed up for two events at the Toronto CreativFestival (Sewing/Quilting/Beading/etc). We splurged on the champagne & hors d’oeuvres evening with Kaffe Fassett (Friday), and his color class (yesterday). It all developed in an unexpected way.

Almost all of the Inklingo # 1 and # 2 CDs are gone now—just a handful left.
To replace the CDs, all of the shapes will be available in smaller downloadable collections. Monkey and I have several of the new collections in a half-finished state, or close-to-finished, but yesterday we were finally able to get one all-the-way-finished. Whew! The rest will come soon.
