More coming, she says? Wowzer, can't wait.
Thank you Linda. I truly do appreciate all you provide. Between the EQ files and Inklingo, sewing quilts is *almost* a no-brainer! lol. Just kidding.

Hi Mary, I'm not sure what you mean. There should be minimal waste no matter whether you make 6 or 9 inch Rose Dream. You can cut the fabric to the size listed in the Catalogue of Shapes to get exactly the number of pieces you need.

I'm trying to decide between the 6 inch and 9 inch size for this block. I was leaning towards the 9 inch on the grounds that it would be easier to machine piece the larger block. But then I got to wondering if it would be very inefficient to print out on standard sized paper. Would there be less waste when printing out the 6 inch block?

Hi Munaiba,
I am glad you wrote!
There is good news. You can probably use the printer you have, and even if you buy a new one, you can probably get something suitable for Inklingo for less than $30 US.
It sounds as if you might be getting jams. Is the freezer paper loosening from the fabric in the printer? That seems to be the cause of almost all jams--either that or feeding crooked. In addition to the tips on page H38 in the handbook (included in the free shape collection), there are also messages in the Yahoo archives about jams. Use fabric which has been washed to remove the sizing. Otherwise, it is very difficult to get a good bond with the freezer paper.
My favorite message about JAMS is called Confession. I will email it to you separately. I wrote it after a very discouraging evening when almost everything jammed, even when I thought I was doing everything right.
If it is another problem, please let me know. After all these years, I am still not aware of an Inkjet that won't print fabric—although you might have to change a setting in the print dialog box to heavy paper or transparency.
You can get started in a few minutes if you want to try again.

Let me know how you do, okay?

Hi Linda
These new shapes look lovely. I'm almost persuaded to buy a new printer as mine refuses to print on fabric and freezer paper.
Regards
